WasteRecruit are working with Yorkshire’s leading provider of waste management services to source and select an Operations Director.
Providing integrated collection and recycling services to a wide range of businesses and local authorities alike, our client employs 350 permanent and temporary staff across 10 facilities, collectively licensed to process 500,000 tonnes of waste per annum. The range of facilities include transfer stations, MRF’s, wood processing, RDF/SRF production sites.
Reporting to the MD, you will be responsible for all aspects of site operations including production, engineering / maintenance and logistics across all ten facilities. Taking a hands-on approach you will hold management responsibility for direct and indirect personnel including site managers, supervisors, engineers and operatives. You will work to co-ordinate movement of waste between facilities to ensure maximum efficiencies and profitability.
A key part of this role will focus on process improvements, cost savings and ppm. Additionally, you will hold financial responsibility for all sites agreeing budgets and managing the P& L for each site.
Last, but certainly not least, you will be accountable for compliance across the business.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operations and will have a hands on approach. You will be diligent leader, a strong people manager with excellent communication skills.
